Gently I Answered and Said

This book is a unique blend of the "metaphysical" within a romantic context. It concerns a dialogue between an old man and a youth regarding the fundamental philosophical questions of life. To those of us who attempt to find the way in order to know our own selves, the youth symbolizes the honest seeker--the student of nature's secrets, making sincere efforts to answer questions which reveal the cause behind effect, such as: "Why I am who I am?" "What is God?" "What is good and evil?" What can fill this void within?"

The older man epitomizes the search fulfilled. His answers to the youth's questions reveal an embodiment of wisdom, which is Understanding lawfully applied. The peace which he exemplifies can only be experienced when we come to know the God of our own Heart.

The interchange between age and youth, experience and innocence leads to an eventual meeting of the younger one's "twin soul," when at last the answers to all of his questions are clarified.

The book is a reflection of the deep inner longing we all experience and alludes to one aspect of the alchemical marriage, depicted by an eventual merging of male and female as they re-unite into one being. The hints at that which has profound implications for our progress and spiritual development.

Frater Albertus, a practical laboratory and mental alchemist, has taught in the United States, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, India, and Central America. He is well known for his other books, among them included: "The Alchemist's Handbook," "The Seven Raya of the QBL," "Men and the Cycles of the Universe," "From One to Ten," and "the Alchemist of the Rocky Mountains."

"Gently I Answered and Said" is a unique diversion from his previous more "practical" works which have appealed primarily to one's reason. This book truly exemplifies that which the author teachers about the law of polarity, by contrast, speaking to the heart.

It is a most important book for those of us now living in this new age who find ourselves having to adjust continuously to radically changing moral values and social norms. Today it becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish truth from facts, and the author contrary to many prophets of doom and despair, offers a higher vision and inspire faith in a glorious future and realization for all yet to come.

It is hoped that many of the reader's questions will be answered, and that the inner longing inherent in each alone, will be stimulated, so that the quest for total union may accelerate, and the Great Work be fulfilled.

May peace be with you!
